Even teen bling feels the sting
Katharine Barney, Evening Standard14 Nov 2008
THE economic downturn has hit the amount of "bling" worn by teenagers, according to a new report published today.
A survey for insurer Allianz of 3,000 parents shows the average British teenager leaves the house wearing designer clothes, jewellery and gadgets worth nearly 15 per cent less than last year.
But with the belongings totalling £662, down from £771, the survey found that 57 per cent of parents still worry about their child falling victim of crime.
