Stallholder banned from markets over designer fakes

A STALLHOLDER has been banned from every market in England and Wales after being caught with £10,000 worth of fake designer clothes.
Adnel Avram, 30, from South Harrow, is thought to have made more than £15,000 selling counterfeit Diesel, Lacoste, Dolce & Gabbana and Moschino goods from his stalls in Wembley Market and Bovingdon Market, Hemel Hempstead.
Trading Standards officers found 726 "designer items" at his home.
The trader was fined £7,000, ordered to pay £3,000 costs, given a three-month suspended prison sentence, and ordered to carry out 1,500 hours of unpaid work after pleading guilty to supplying counterfeit designer goods.
Avram sold the goods for more than 18 months. He was warned by Trading Standards officers in October last year, but carried on selling the fakes. He was caught again in February and June.
He claimed the goods belonged to his 18-year-old brother, but later admitted 10 offences under the Trade Marks Act.
Recorder Richard Atchley at Harrow magistrates court said Avram had "told porky pies" about his level of involvement in the enterprise.
Susan Hall, head of environment services at Harrow council, said: "The public need to be protected from unscrupulous traders who try and pass off counterfeit goods as the real thing."

1,500 hours community service for selling snide goods is a bit steep, give him big fines yes, i know people who have commited violent attacks on people and only received 100 hours community service, obviously jo public is worthless but big companies being ripped off looks like being crime of the century, once again goods are valued higher than peoples safety
