Ceiling of Ramsay's pub collapses

Bo Wilson

It hasn't been Gordon Ramsay's week. First he had to endure newspaper reports of a seven-year affair and then the ceiling caved in at one of his gastro-pubs.

A cornice collapsed at The Warrington in Maida Vale on Wednesday, showering customers in rubble. Ramsay, who was in another restaurant nearby went to the pub to deal with the situation. The 42-year-old Michelin-star chef has been keeping his head down this week following allegations he had an affair with writer Sarah Symonds.

However, the married father-of-four finally spoke out to deny the claims while giving a cookery demonstration at the BBC Good Food Show yesterday. He dismissed the claim as "b******s" but told how it had taken its toll, saying: "What a week I've had."

Sorry did the ceiling collapse or did a bit of the cornicing come off?
