Graffiti artist's 'Willy Wonka' show

Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent
4 Dec 2008

A graffiti artist is creating a chocolate factory in the East End.

Inspired by Willy Wonka's workshop in Roald Dahl's story, Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, Sickboy is turning a Victorian Grade II-listed building into a "3D creative playground".

Sweets will be given to visitors from a conveyor belt along with 1,000 gold keys. The one whose key fits a lock will win the entire £20,000 installation, called the Stay Free Factory.

Other works by the graffiti star, originally from Bristol, will be displayed for separate purchase.

The show opens today until 10 December from midday until 6pm, at The Tramshed, Garden Walk, Shoreditch.

Yay - I'd be up for that.
What a magical idea. I'm in my 30s and if I won, that little £20K installation would be my pension. Gotta think ahead.
