Ramsay chef says he's a good boss

Gordon Ramsay's star protégée has aimed a sideswipe at former colleague Marcus Wareing, saying she wants to work for the chef for the rest of her career.

Angela Hartnett said she had no plans to leave her employer and was happy to remain working for Ramsay for ever.

It comes after his acrimonious split with Wareing - so far his most successful apprentice - who later launched an extraordinary attack on his former boss saying he would "lose no sleep" if they never met again.

Wareing left Ramsay's Petrus in May, describing how working for the Scot made him feel "constrained, confined and trapped". He added that he would rather "kill myself " than be overshadowed by Ramsay.

But in a veiled attack on Wareing, Hartnett - who recently took charge of new Gordon Ramsay Holdings restaurants Murano and the York and Albany - said she had no desire to leave the organisation.

She said: "Gordon and I are business partners; I am a shareholder in the restaurants. I do feel they are mine. He is there if I need advice...I would not want to leave. I get on very well with him."
