Singer braves India gigs despite attacks

Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent

Singer Laura Critchley is defying terrorists to go ahead with a planned tour of India.

Extra security has been added for the London singer's concert at the Hard Rock Cafe in Mumbai tomorrow night after she decided not to cancel. Ms Critchley, 24, who lives in Islington, said: "I was so excited to be going to India in the first place before the terrorist thing happened. When it did happen I decided that I had lived in London when all the bombings were happening so why should the terrorists make me cancel the trip?"

But she admitted her family were worried for her safety. The tour is to promote her debut album, Sometimes I.

With all the controversy about the English cricket team worried about going back to cities about 400 miles from Mumbai - id consider it fairly brave to go to that city - bearing in mind it appears to be a high profile gig... why the cynicism Ken? Archie.

Well done Laura!

I think you are very brave ....why should these terrorists ruin everything for everyone. I hope the trip is successful for you.
