Probe into envoy's death fall 'blocked'
Benedict Moore-Bridger11 Dec 2008
THE Pakistan High Commission has been accused of blocking efforts to investigate the death of a military diplomat.
Munir Ahmed, 47, fell 40ft from a lavatory window of the building in London on 18 July. The post-mortem found only an "insignificant" amount of the painkiller codeine in his blood.
But Westminster coroner Dr Paul Knapman yesterday recorded an open verdict. He said: "There was no co-operation and no full inquiry has been pursued."
The High Commission refused to comment.
