'I watched fiancée dying after lorry crash'
Danny Brierley12 Dec 2008
A MAN today described the horror of running to help his dying fiancée after she was struck by a lorry.
Gavin Blundell had said goodbye to Hannah Lis as she left their west London flat to buy groceries. Minutes later he heard sirens, ran to his balcony and saw his 23-year-old fiancée lying in Earl's Court Road. When he got to Hannah she was surrounded by medics but was pronounced dead later at hospital.
Mr Blundell, 28, who worked full-time as Hannah's carer, said: "She was my whole life." Miss Lis, an Open University student, suffered a stroke aged 11 which left her without the use of her left arm. The couple met in 2005 and were planning to marry next year.
Witnesses to the accident, near the junction with Old Brompton Road at about 2pm on Wednesday 3 December, should call 020 7321 9907.

Peter,I am really sorry to make you angry but 99% of accidents are driver'fault. She was a pedestrian at the time of accident and she was vulnerable. No comments we can make any further please. BEST REGARDS, ÝLYAS ORHANLI

ilyas orhanli,
why educate drivers ? how do you know that it wasnt her own fault ? there is nothing written in the story to suggest it was any-ones fault but you still felt the need to blame the driver .this is typical of the witch hunt crowd against drivers !

I am really sorry for the incident. Nothing may bring her back but we have to educate drivers not to make fatal mistakes in order not to lose anyone again. Please human life is more important than anything else.28 years she lived in this world and had different wishes for her life.we have taken all her dreams away.I would like to express my sincere condolences, sending my thoughts and prayers to this very young woman.
