Cruise shakes his pelvis just like Elvis

TOM Cruise, the world's leading film star, sex symbol and Scientologist, can add another talent to the list: an accomplished impersonator of Elvis Presley.

Cruise, 46, claiming he had never sung on TV before, broke into Blue Suede Shoes before leaping up and pulling off Elvis moves - bending down on one knee and spinning his right arm at the elbow while gurning in the manner of the King.

Cruise was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno in the US when the chat show host asked if he would ever follow his wife Katie Holmes and star in a Broadway show. Cruise replied: "I like making movies but I'm not saying 'no' to Broadway. I would like to do a musical."

Cruise then pointed out he had never sung on TV, adding: "We should do that right now."

The Top Gun star has form for startling behaviour on chat shows. On Oprah Winfrey in 2005, he leapt up and down on a couch, punched the air and declared his love for Holmes.
