Christmas auction set to top £145,000

THE Evening Standard Christmas charity auction was set to raise more than £145,000 as bidding closed today.
There was frenzied bidding in the final hours for the "once in a lifetime" experiences.
Among the 220 lots were a New York shopping trip with Topshop owner Sir Philip Green and Kate Moss, VIP access to Versace's Milan fashion show, a ski break in Chamonix, a Paul Smith suit fitting, and table tennis with Michael Sherwood and Chris Blackhurst.
The auction supports the Greenhouse organisation, which helps disadvantaged London children through sport and performing arts.
The top lots were the shopping trip with Moss and Green (£12,100), best seats at Versace (£5,101), table tennis with Blackhurst (£4,600), Paul Smith suit fitting (£3,300) and Corporate hospitality tickets to see Tina Turner at the O2 (£3,100).
