Jarring: Rachel Stevens fell in rehearsals

Strictly Rachel on painkillers for final

STRICTLY Come Dancing favourite Rachel Stevens is undergoing emergency treatment for a back injury.

The 30-year-old former pop star is desperately trying to recover in time for Saturday's grand BBC final, where she is 6/4 favourite to win.

She jarred her back in a fall during training with partner Vincent Simone, putting her contest with Holby City actor Tom Chambers and model and presenter Lisa Snowdon in jeopardy. An insider said: "Rachel's having emergency physio and is taking painkillers. It couldn't have come at a worse time because she's desperate to be fully fit for the final.

"She's been struggling with her back and all the lifts haven't helped. She really jarred it after falling heavily. It's a real shame."

The show is at the centre of a row after a blunder meant all three couples went through to the final. At least 1,687 people complained to the BBC after last week's phone vote was scrapped.

So she's got her excuses in first. Quite enterprising for a complete airhead!

Great programme! But you know who's going to win from the outset, either a popsinger or sportsman/woman. The old 'uns never stand a chance. 'Hearsay' have been adamp squib but out of that Kim Marsh, Mylene Klass and suannah Shaw all went on to be stars in their own right.

I have to say, if I was forced to watch any of this dross, I'd also want to be on copious amounts of painkillers.

"..is undergoing emergency treatment for a back injury."

Having physio and popping ibruprofen? Emergency treatment? - It's not really is it?

So am I!!

I am sick to the back teeth of hearing about this programme and the other awful programme - X-Factor.

Thank goodness they will both be off our screens by Saturday.

What started out as watchable programmes they have now become bitching sessions and totally bias voting exercises with the losers (as usual) being the viewers and the suckers who constantly vote for these 'celebrities'.

Good riddance to bad programmes!!
