Cameras roll at Tate to put works on film
Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent2 Jan 2009
THE Tate galleries have joined forces with film-makers to cast new light on its exhibitions.
Young directors have been given access to Tate shows such as the current Turner Prize and Mark Rothko exhibitions to create films that can be viewed at Tate online.
The scheme, called Tate Remixed, is the brainchild of B3, a Brixton-based company forging links between multicultural communities and the creative industries.
Marc Boothe, B3's founder, said: "Doing it with Tate meant it would get the work seen by a really wide audience - something in the region of 1.5 million people."
Will Gompertz, director of Tate media, said: "We thought it would be interesting to see what people from a variety of backgrounds had to say about our shows."

Can't wait to see the crack in the floor, the dripping tap exhibition and the Turner prize video. Oh wow.
