ONE lucky art student is to have their work displayed on a giant canvas in central London.

Members of the public are being asked to choose from 13 pieces by students at the Royal Academy Schools.

The winning artwork will be shown on the 14 by 24metre canvas across the southern facade of One Grafton Street, Mayfair.

The competition is a collaboration between the academy and Hines, the international real estate company, which has a development at One Grafton Street

Professor Maurice Cockrill, the Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts, said: "These are remarkable students with the highest standards of creative energy and diversity, whose imagery will enhance and enliven this location and become an exciting landmark at this busy junction."

The works, which range from paintings to ceramics and computer-generated pieces, were selected by a panel of artists, critics and collectors including John Hoyland and Kay Saatchi.

The public can view the works at www.onespiritshowcase.com Votes must be cast by 8 February.

Excellent news! As an artist and art teacher it would be great if I can see the painting live.

Congratulations Students

these are all very imaginative, but i don't think i could live with most of them. i haven't voted yet as i wish to study the images further, but considering their placement....i'm not sure that most of them would be attractive or interesting or worth crossing the street to view.
