Ages of man at the Donmar

Louise Jury, Chief Arts Correspondent

DOZENS of students and pensioners are to tread the boards of a West End stage in an education project by the Donmar Warehouse.

Members of Age Concern in Covent Garden and Maida Vale are to work with pupils from West Thames College in Isleworth and Hollyfield in Surbiton on a piece of theatre inspired by Twelfth Night.

The Donmar is currently presenting the Shakespearean classic with Sir Derek Jacobi at the Wyndham's Theatre in Charing Cross Road.

Amateurs will do a performance of their show on the same stage next month. Another 100 pupils from local schools will create stage designs.

Housing developer United House Group has sponsored the scheme as the Donmar is not publicly funded to do education work.
