New delays on West Coast line as floods hit services

WEST Coast rail services out of Euston suffered yet more disruption today - this time because of flooding.
Virgin Train services from Euston, Birmingham New Street and Crewe will stop short at either Preston or Lancaster.
Buses replace trains between Preston and Carlisle, adding more than an hour to journeys to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Virgin services heading south from Glasgow Central and Edinburgh will end at Carlisle.
Extensive flooding has closed the lines between Oxenholme Lake District and Carlisle until further notice.
It comes after severe delays and disruptions last week because of repeated power failures.
Overhead power lines collapsed at Watford Junction bringing trains to a halt and stranding passengers in sub-zero temperatures. On that occasion trains in and out of Euston were cancelled and replacement bus services laid on for passengers.
The line has only just reopened after a £9billion rebuild.
Network Rail has launched an investigation into the power failures.
