Maracas and a Bob Marley hat among Charles gifts

PRINCE CHARLES owns a pair of wooden maracas, a batik sarong, a Bob Marley-style baseball cap and wrist band, a plastic seat cushion and an acoustic guitar, it was revealed today.

He was given the items as gifts on overseas tours last year, but it is not known if he has ever used them.

The eccentric offerings are part of a list of at least 245 gifts given to Charles and his wife Camilla during their visits to the Caribbean in March and Japan, Brunei and Indonesia in October and November.

A Clarence House spokesman said the prince and duchess either use the presents or put them on display in St James's Palace and Clarence House.

Charles was given a large selection of paintings, carvings and sculptures, as well as local produce.

Gifts from the Civilian Conservation Corps in Trinidad and Tobago included a key ring, plastic seat cushion, glass tankard, DVD and an alarm clock.

One benefactor in Jamaica gave Camilla a hand-held fan after it was revealed she finds hot, humid environments difficult.

The Duchess took part in only half her tour with Charles in the autumn, missing out the Indonesian leg where temperatures were expected to be high.
