Bishop brands Brown ‘a desperate gambler’
21 Jan 2009Gordon Brown was today branded a “desperate gambler” by the Bishop of Southwark. The Rt Rev Tom Butler also blasted City bankers.
Just 48 hours after the Prime Minister unveiled his latest bank rescue plan, the Bishop told Today on Radio 4: “To see political leaders around the world like desperate gamblers seemingly staking more and more money on failing banks in the hope their losses will all come right is not encouraging.”
He said of a bank official's remark they were keeping their fingers crossed: “A financial illiterate like myself had always trusted the City could do a little better than that.”

Go for it Bish! I couldn't agree more. There seems to be a conspiracy between Politicos (of all parties) and Bankers etc along the lines of "You keep schtum about us and we won't rat on you".
