Big chance: Shanaze Reade crashed out in Beijing

BMX girl ‘will win in 2012’

5 Feb 2009

BMX rider Shanaze Reade will “put the record straight” and win gold in 2012, cycling performance director David Brailsford has predicted.

The rider from Crewe crashed out of the Beijing Games where she was tipped for gold. But Brailsford, the force behind Team GB's cycle success, said: “Shanaze is the best at what she does. She's the best in the world.”

Speaking to MPs in the Commons yesterday, he said: “It will be one of the highlights and I'm sure she will do it.” He also said it was important to ensure that the Games are well supported by the public.

But wasn't she 'Going to win' in China??

She has a chance if she stays upright.

All that money spent and she falls off......

Shanaze had a great positive attitude in China. She wants to win, not come second. Best of luck for 2012.
