Football star Micah Richards arrested for alleged assault

Footballer Micah Richards has been arrested over an alleged assault on an 18-year-old man outside a nightclub.
The England and Manchester City defender was questioned by police yesterday about the incident in Hale, greater Manchester, at about 12.30am on Christmas Eve.
Richards, 20, has been bailed until 8 April and a spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “The man was arrested on suspicion of section 47 assault.”
Richards, who joined Manchester City from Oldham Athletic as a 14-year-old, signed a new five-and-a-half-year contract with the club last February.
