Row: Didier Drogba's cleaner sat outside his house shouting threats

Chelsea star Didier Drogba's cleaner stages car sit-in over £430 wages

Police were called to Chelsea star Didier Drogba's home after his partner had a row with a cleaner.

The 32-year-old housekeeper is said to have walked out of the £2.4 million house after becoming fed up with the couple's demands.

Candy Price then staged a sit-in in a car outside the house in Oxshott, Surrey until she was paid what she claimed was £430 in unpaid wages.

The housekeeper sat with a friend until Drogba's partner, mother-of-three Lalla Diakite called police. Ms Price of West Drayton said: "All I wanted was the money owed to me.

"Drogba's partner kept telling me she would put it in the post, but she didn't have my address. Two representatives from Chelsea asked me to move. They left and the police turned up. I explained the situation to the officers, who went inside. They came out with a cheque for £430."

A spokesman for Drogba, 30, who is paid £115,000 a week, said: "They owed the cleaner no money. He is on international duty and his wife is pregnant on her own and doesn't speak much English.

"The cleaner sat outside shouting threats, banging on the gate, ringing the intercom. Didier's wife was scared and called police."

They owed her no money but the police suggested they give her the cheque for the outstanding amount. Generousity or realisation that the cleaner was in the right?

If the cleaner was owed no money, how come the police came out of the house with a cheque for £430?

What kind of deadbeat doesn't pay their domestic staff what they are owed? As Drogba is well into the £200K a week salary stratosphere, £430 for the cleaner is hardly likely to break the bank, is it?

Drogba is a shining example to us all. His behaviour since arriving at Chelsea has been fantastic. A thoroughly decent bloke.

Drogba, no doubt is a class player as shown by his contributions to Chelsea. Unfortunately, he lacks the depth of professionalism required of a player in his status. The exit of Mourinho from Chelsea could not be said to have affected Drogba more than it did to Chelsea fans all over the world; for him to have remained unsettled till now with the unending speculations that he might leave Chelsea for Inter-Milan runs short of the professional standard which he owes himself and Chelsea as a Club. Should he leave and Mourinho per chance comes back to Chelsea,as most Chelsea fans may wish, would he crave to come back to Chelsea once again?

However, he is not the only one to take the blame for Chelsea's poor run in results but the entire team who are paid sooo much, yet their contributions and commitment on the field of play, unarguably leave the minds and passion of all fans bleeding. I always imagine seeing Mourinho come back to Chelsea. That imagined circumstance is the only thing that can bring together the fabrics of the team which appear to have broken down irretrievably. Where that fails, as it looks certain, would be to disban the team and rebuild it under a new manager who will take the responsibility of recruiting young players with talents, not the aging stock being grazed at Stamford bridge, without any promise of producing milk for the fans.

Objectively, it would be wrong to castigate Drogba for the incident with his housekeeper as we may not know the whole truth

Didier Drogba gets £115,000 a week; gets not earns. Cleaner on minimum wage after getting the £430 she is owed. I hope this puts in perspective just how over paid premiership footballers are. I know life’s not fair and all that, but it must be noted how over paid footballer are. To all those blokes who say it’s a short career as a justification… just think about what these people get paid a week and then tell me that’s not a stupid statement.

Another newspaper claims Drogba's house is valued at £4m yet you have it £2.4m. Further sign that house prices are dropping like a stone by the day!!

It's called slavery where they come from, but then being black it doesn't count does it.

Too much money and not the intelligence to handle it.
