Missing singer Gerry Rafferty 'is fine'

GERRY RAFFERTY was said today to be "alive and comparatively well".

The singer, who has not been seen by family and friends since walking out of hospital six months ago, is said to be living in hotels and B&Bs in London and Dorset.

Rafferty, 61, who wrote the 1978 hit Baker Street, has fought alcoholism for years. He was admitted to St Thomas' Hospital in August suffering from liver failure after he ransacked his Mayfair hotel room. Days later he disappeared.

Today two sources said he was being cared for by a friend. One fan wrote on a website: "Don't worry. He's fine. I served him in a restaurant just off Piccadilly Circus then helped him back to his hotel." Another said he had spent a few days at a bed and breakfast in Bournemouth.

Hi

I just want Gerry to get well first and only then put pen to paper to let us know he is well and ready to return to the very forgiving world, then and only then can he put pen to paper and let us know he is well, I just want to tell him we can not loose him to the darkness and we must try to keep him safe.

if you are reading this Gerry, Please get well we are there with you every step off the way. if you get it wrong this get it right next time.

peace be with you
always

I only recently found out that I am related to Gerry- through my Grandmother's (MEG SHELLY) sister- Annie Rafferty.
I remember going to Paisley to visit her- and how proud she was of you Gerry.
I'm now living in Texas, I am a singer and still perform "stuck in the middle"- What a wonderful talent and gift to the music industry.
Gerry- I wish you well in your recovery.

A friend introduced me to Gerry Rafferty not long after "Night Owl" was released. Since then, I have picked up Stealers Wheel material as well as many, if not all, of Gerry`s solo LPs. Thoroughly enjoy "Snakes and Ladders", "Sleepwalking", "North & South", and find much to like about all his releases. A very talented musician, vocalist, and songwriter who has much more to treasure than "Baker Street". Very relieved to hear that he is doing fine. Know that many fans out here appreciate you and pray for you, Gerry.
