Connolly reveals he's a sole man

BILLY CONNOLLY has confessed to a passion for shoes.
The much-loved Scottish comedian says he owns more than 100 pairs, and pines for his footwear when away from home.
"I miss my shoes when I am away,'' he says in an interview.
"I've got lots of shoes - maybe 100 pairs or something like that in various places."
Connolly, who made his reputation parading around stage in a pair of boots shaped like giant bananas, makes the admission in an ITV travel documentary, Journey To The Edge Of The World, at 9pm tonight. But of all his shoes, he says he still misses a pair stolen many years ago - a pair of patent leather and leopardskin brogues "to die for".
"I adored them, but someone stole them from my house at a party. That must have been 20 years ago and I still think about them."
