Noel Gallagher's Tibet concert led to China gig ban
4 Mar 2009Oasis says China blocked the band's landmark tour of the country because Noel Gallagher took part in a free Tibet event in 1997.
China's ministry of culture "deemed the band unsuitable", said the Oasis website.
Authorities have been carefully monitoring who is allowed to perform after Bjork shouted "Tibet!" at a Shanghai concert.
