Noel Gallagher's Tibet concert led to China gig ban

Oasis says China blocked the band's landmark tour of the country because Noel Gallagher took part in a free Tibet event in 1997.

China's ministry of culture "deemed the band unsuitable", said the Oasis website.

Authorities have been carefully monitoring who is allowed to perform after Bjork shouted "Tibet!" at a Shanghai concert.

Oasis are now less popular here now than even in China. So last century it isn't true.
