Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe has written a moving tribute to murdered young actor Rob Knox.

Radcliffe, who stars as the boy wizard, wrote a message inside the cover of the JK Rowling novel which was adapted into the film that Rob appeared in before he died.

The heart-rending note inside Harry Potter And The Half Blood Prince said: "We are all proud to have known you and devastated to have lost you.

"It is terrible just to write this note. Rest in peace, Dan."

Quoting a line from DH Lawrence, Radcliffe, 19, added: "The dead don't die. They look on and help."

Other cast members from the film, in which Rob appeared as character Marcus Belby, also penned tributes to him in the book, which was sent to his mother Sally.

The 18-year-old was stabbed to death outside a nightclub in Sidcup last May.

His killer, 22-year-old Karl Bishop, was yesterday jailed for life.
