RECESSION? What recession?
Billionaire Sol Kerzner packed the Dorchester with the wealthy and well-connected to celebrate his wife Heather's 40th birthday.
The 73-year-old casino and hotel tycoon left little doubt that he was surviving the credit crunch with a lavish party.
Guests included the Duchess of York and Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice, Elizabeth Hurley and husband Arun Nayar, David Furnish, Trinny Woodall, James and Elisabeth Murdoch, Geri Halliwell, Matthew Williamson and Tim Jefferies.
Sir Philip Green, the Topshop owner, also celebrated his 57th birthday at the stroke of midnight. Mrs Kerzner wore two dresses, starting the evening in a long white silk Ralph Lauren, then changing into a short pink chiffon by Jenny Packham for the dancing.
American-born Mrs Kerzner is the South African billionaire's fourth wife. Also at the party were her children Savannah and Charlie, who made endearing speeches. In his speech, Kerzner joked that he had never dated a woman in her forties before, adding: "You have made me so very happy."
Donna Summer and Natalie Cole were the surprise acts alongside a globe-sized cake with marzipan Jimmy Choos and Hermes handbags.

I love Heather Kerzner- what a fabulous girl. Although I have not yet met her, I have seen many articles in magazines and they all seem to agree that she is an excellent mother, wife and friend. And joan, if Heather is able to throw a party with every thing she's ever wanted- what's stopping her? certainly not your outrageous comments..

Gross ostentatious display.

Donna Summer last full show in the UK was in 1996. She knows her fanbase really want to see her, she'll do a corporate shmooze like this for ther bucks, but neglects the fanbase that made her famous.

I love both those 2 singers. Natalie Cole did a concert at the 02 not long ago, come over Donna it's your turn now and we'd all love to see you back in the UK performing again.
