TV chief behind Muppets dies at 79

TELEVISION producer Francis Essex, who brought the Muppets to Britain, has died aged 79.
He worked as a BBC trainee before moving to ITV company Associated Television as a writer and then producer.
He helped bring The Muppet Show to British screens after its creator Jim Henson failed to land a US series.
