No 10 calls McNulty to account
Evening Standard24.03.09
DOUBTS were raised today over Tony McNulty's future as London minister following the row over his taxpayer-funded second home.
The Harrow East MP, who faces an investigation by the Commons sleaze watchog, has had to explain to No 10 officials his use of nearly £60,000 for a home in Harrow where his parents live.
He is thought to have said he has not broken any rules. Gordon Brown is said to accept this and see the episode as a “distraction” from issues such as the economic crisis.

Did I read that someone had suggested this guy as a 2012 Mayoral candidate for Labour? What a joke that campaign would be!!

No MP should receive an allowance for a second home, it should be mandatory policy that they live in their constituency and when they go to London they should be given an allowance to cover a hotel room. The allowances should be in place to ensure that they can attend parliament; not to make them property barons off the back of the taxpayer.

Yes could we please save the taxpayer the cost of another whitewash and declare Mr McNulty clean as a whistle? I mean, that's going to be how it ends - right?

When are we going to get an election so that we can throw Brown, Mc Nulty and this useless government out
They have gone way past their sell by date.

If brown the clown fails to act on this theft then he is only making things worse for himself and his party. This theft may be within the rules but it is plainly wrong and is deception at the very least. If he condones this he needs replacing. We were promised an open and honest Government.

if gordy accepts this absurd manipulation of the rules, then he has failed to grasp the pr implications and further evidenced the morally, politically and financially bankrupt plight of his party.he and his affiliates are plunging deeper and deeper into the black hole of obscurity and just like the dying embers of j.major's ill fated government, the rats are clutching at the straws of
sordid and corrupt piracy as they prepare for a lengthy period in the wilderness.
like major, blair and many other washed up 'leaders' history will damn gordy and highlight his flaws and failings.

Just wait for Gordon Brown to express his "full support" for McNumpty. When that happens we know he will be sacked or forced to resign within 48 hours.
