These politicians make me sick. They are supposed to be representing the public but they only think about themselves and how they can spend our money and get away with it. It might not be so bad if they listened to the people every so often but they don't. Self Serving Pigs they all are.

The arrogance of these people is quite staggering. They really seem to think that it is perfectly alright to fiddle the expenses and that getting caught is an occupational hazard in which any misdemeanors will be automatically excused simply by apologising and saying they didn't realise that the incorrectly claimed expenses were a problem. I have to say that most people who claim more money than their salary, if part of the claims turned out to be incorrectly made, would most likely face summary dismissal and quite possibly face a police investigation for theft and all the consequences that this would ensue. I see no reason why MP's should be treated any differently including members of the cabinet.

It's pity that Guy Fawkes didn't have an expense account.

Two washing machines and a tumble drier. Two flat screen t.v.'s. There goes Labour concern for the environment and throw as you go rubbish taxation then?

Isn't wonderful? our Parliamentarians get caught out fiddling their expenses (to put it as nicely as possible) and they say that the solution is to increase their pay so they don't have to do it anymore! I wonder if an employer in the private sector would take that view seeing abuse of the company credit card or would he go for summary dismissal; or a magistrate dealing with someone being prosecuted for fiddling state benefits - you can just imagine it ".. poor darling wasn't getting enough, we won't send him/her to jail or the like, the government will just have to pay more, its the only solution". The problem is that our Parliamentarians just don't get it, they really think that they are special, different to "ordinary people" (don't you shudder when they use that phrase) so normal rules do not apply to them. It isn't a Labour thing - it's across the board; it just seems worse when the culprit is a member of the government.

Why has she dared to claim for TWO washing machines? Did she buy one for her sister at our expense? This must not be allowed to continue until she is kicked out at the next election. She must be sacked NOW. Did she claim for the postage stamps on the letters her husband anonymously sent to newspapers praising her role as home secretary?

Of the £150,000.00 claimed, I sincerely hope that Jacqui Smith sister has been declaring the rental Jacqui "pays" as additonal income on her tax return. What chance the Inland Revenue turning a blind eye to this.

This is the theft of public money, there is no other way to put it. I gather we are in for an MP bloodbath soon when details emerge of other claims - although I suspect the shredders are working flat out at the moment. Cameron's laid back reaction to the adult film issue suggests he knows trouble is coming his way as well as to Brown. Eric Pickles 'car crash' moment on last week's Question Time when 'excusing' his obvious greed maybe just the start.
