Workers enter factory in cutbacks protest

Workers at a car parts firm attempted today to occupy two factories in London and Essex in protest over job cuts.
The action follows an overnight sit-in at another Visteon factory in Ulster.
Staff are demanding action to save more than 560 jobs at the plant, and at the sites in Enfield and Basildon.
Workers gained entry to the Enfield factory and were occupying the site while scores demonstrated outside the Basildon factory.
The firm's former owner and main customer is Ford. Visteon UK employed 227 staff at the Enfield plant, 173 in Basildon, and 210 in Belfast.
