A GANG of five used a south London council flat for a worldwide credit card cloning operation that made £3.5million in just over a week, a court heard today.
Police found fake cards and counterfeiting equipment in the Walworth flat, Southwark crown court heard. The five allegedly struck when Barclaycard took over Morgan Stanley credit cards last year, stealing £3.5million between 28 September and 8 October, prosecutor Ben Fitzgerald said.
Fake cards were made using a type of computer software that was found in the flat, the court heard, and were used to buy £645,000 of valuables in Britain alone.
Khi-San Voong, 46, Qiu Yeu, 46, Qiang Xue, 34, and Dauy Chung, 40, all of Walworth, deny conspiracy to defraud. Cai Caixa, 27, pleaded guilty. The trial continues.
