A TEENAGE star of the Harry Potter films has been arrested for allegedly growing £2,000 of cannabis.

Jamie Waylett, 19, who played bullying pupil Vincent Crabbe in the wizard films, and a friend were arrested after drug squad officers raided his home on a tip-off.

A total of 10 mature cannabis plants, which had been grown under powerful hydroponic lights, were seized from the property in Messina Avenue, Camden, which the actor shares with mother Theresa, two brothers and a sister. He was arrested on possession of production of a class B drug. Waylett, a friend of fellow Harry Potter stars Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint, was accused of snorting cocaine in a 2006 newspaper exposé.

He has appeared in all six Harry Potter films, including Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince which is due out in July.

A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: "Both men have been bailed to a date in July pending further inquiries and tests on the substances and plants recovered."
