Chef jailed for stoning Jay Kay’s Ferrari

A pastry chef was jailed today for smashing up Jamiroquai frontman Jay Kay's Ferrari Enzo in a row over a girl.
Aaron Billington, 21, caused more than £9,000 of damage after seeing the star walking on a beach after midnight with a friend and two women, one of whom he had an “emotional attachment” to. The attack left the star out of pocket as his insurance excess was £10,000.
At Ipswich crown court Billington admitted pelting the car with stones last month at a hotel in Aldeburgh, Suffolk.
He was sentenced to 20 weeks for criminal damage, failing to answer bail and leaving bed and breakfast accommodation and a restaurant without paying.
The court was told that after he saw Jay Kay he became “arrogant” towards the star, who tried to ignore the chef and then “mocked” him because of his stutter. The singer then invited the women to his room.
Christopher Morgan, defending, said: “It was easy to draw the obvious conclusion what was going on at the time.”

So for criminal damage to a car you get 20 weeks while for criminal damage to a person you get just 12. Once again this country gets its sentencing policy so wrong.
