Sarkozy pours scorn on Obama's 'inexperience'

Danny Brierley
17 Apr 2009

FRENCH president Nicolas Sarkozy has labelled his US counterpart Barack Obama "inexperienced and indecisive".

The unflattering assessment of Mr Obama's political abilities came during a sweeping broadside against a host of world leaders. Mr Sarkozy has also reportedly labelled the Spanish leader as dim, the German Chancellor as clinging on to France's coat tails and the head of the European Commission as irrelevant.

In the latest candid communiqués from the Elysée Palace, Mr Sarkozy was quoted as telling an all-party group of MPs that Mr Obama "was elected two months ago and had never run a ministry. There are a certain number of things on which he has no position. And he is not always up to standard on decision making and efficiency".

The French president is reportedly irritated by suggestions that Mr Obama convinced China to reach a compromise with Mr Sarkozy over tax havens, and allegedly also claimed that the US leader had "underperformed" on the issue of climate change. He is also said to be annoyed at the almost universal praise for Mr Obama in the world's media.

Claude Askolovitch, a commentator close to the Elysée Palace, wrote: "The president is annoyed at what he sees as the naivety and herd mentality."

President Sarkozy recognizes a con artist when he sees / hears one, (in this case it isn't difficult) unlike obamas herd or more precise, obamas "Useful Idiots". Bravo to President Sarkozy for speaking out what is so obvious!

Sarkozy is right - Obama is a case of style over substance. More dangerously, he's espousing the reckless financial policies of his friends on Wall Street who bankrolled his campaign and who now seek to re-inflate the bubble by taking from the poor and giving to the rich. He'll know a bitter backlash later this year when he's failed and seen as having betrayed those in whom he encouraged the view that he was a kind of American and world saviour.

Obama went from being a community organizer to president in 6 years. There is not question he has no experience in governing. Unfortunately, the sychophants in the U.S. media slobber over him daily despite the fact that he's reneged on countless campaign promises made to get elected. The big question is how long it will take the people who voted for him to wake up and see him for the fraud that he is.

I admire the French President, Mr Sarkozy for standing up against all odds and speaking the truth about obama, our impotent president. obama does have a herd of sheep following him. For them it will be too late when they realize President Sarkozy was right.

Kudos to Sarkozy. Obama is a product of hype and Hollywood. His inexperience and indecisiveness was seen in his 36 hour ordeal of stalling the rescue of the Captain from the pirates. Next he hasn't tried to disrupt their bases. We are on the defense and will be while he is in office. Next he released the CIA's Top Secret interrogation techniques. Al Qaida is revising their terrorist training manuals as we speak. Thanks to idiot stick Obama. Isn't he suppose to protect Americans, not the terrorists?

It's interesting to read the Brits writing about the French. First, we see that all of the American comments so far show support for Sarko's remarks. In short, Obama is inexperienced at best, but to a very large percentage of us, he is a great threat to our democracy and is taking us down a scary economic and social road we DO NOT want to go down. On the other hand, apparently, few in Europe, aside from President Sarkozy, haven't been sucked into the Obama glow. Well...it's wearing off folks.

And his inexperience, naivete, left over leftist 60s, feel good kumbaya expansion of BIG activist govt. intrusion, control freak nanny statism is going to be the death of us. When combined with sellout by BOTH parties giving us BIG govt. in bed with BIG BIG international banks and financial interests...means we will ALL be paying premium for Obama's on the job training not to mention 30 years of totally stupid economic and foreign policy. Sadly, the dems and Obama have NOT figured out yet the US is no longer the US of 1968 when we could almost afford a massive war on poverty, a war abroad, a space program, and dumping money into this country or that .. buying friends who are not friends after all, leaving us broke with an economic future that looks pretty bleak. Pretending we are still a rich rich all powerful OZ of a nation is going bankrupting us and is going to get us killed on all levels if the PTB are not careful. I have a theory the bunch of them would like the return of feudalism and serfs .. well on the way to that happenstance. I suspect Obama may figure it out sooner or later. The rest of the dems and repubs will take us all down passing money to international banking cartels which along with BIG stupid govt. put us in this mess, adding yet one more social program we can't afford, and more wars to fight. Sarkozy .. he can take pot shots but he and Merkel are not much better off as they pretend they are masters of the universe only with European snottiness.

I voted for the guy that Obama kept mistaking for George W. Bush and was very disappointed that my fellow countrymen voted Mr. Obama in. Mr. Obama is woefully inexperienced and has shown questionable judgement. He is the wrong man to lead the USA in these dangerous times. Why did my fellow countrymen vote him in? I can only believe that they took what the main stream media told them about the issues and about Mr. Obama at face value and did not do their homework. In the immortal words of The Who, I pray that "We Won't Get Fooled Again".

Thank you too, Mr. Sarkozy.

Yeah finally someone realizes its.. he is a national security risk because he doesn't know anything and is inexperienced. during the election it was proven that hes not qualified enough, now its showing. Everyone one obamas side are blindly following him, why?, they make it ur against him then your republican or conservative, no! what about that we just after the acessing his qualifications that hes just not qualified and hes inexperienced. since hes president i gave him a chance, but you know what hes doing a bad job. He scared me in so many ways, just how hes getting dhs to consider anyone opposed to him to be labeled extremist. Just look at what hes doing. Thanks Sarkozy, more and more eyes are starting to open, i think people will end up realizing their mistake and recall obama, its sad the country was decieved into thinking this guy was going to do good for them. I have 16 in my family and we're all democrats, i was the only one that wasn't hit with Obama fever and did't vote for him, now "all" my members of my family are cured and realize they made a mistake. Now i wonder how many people are starting to realize when the nestalgia fades of what they did, " oh no what have i done"!

When the French peg you as a wimp, you have a serious PR problem. Obama's experience - or lack thereof - isn't an issue to the handlers who scammed him into office. His job is to deliver his Newspeak from the Altar Of The Sacred Teleprompter, or otherwise sit there and try to project some faux-statesman aura for the cameras. He and this administration have caused more harm and embarrassment in three months than 12 years of Carter and Clinton combined.

Thank God, President Sarkozy picked up on the fact that we (in the USA) have a completely incompetent (and we believe, possibly illegitimate) "commander in chief," running the White House. His experience is no more than that of a classroom, campus professor. (This is by no means an insult to professors around the world, and I apologize if you take it as such.) I am embarrassed by he, and his wife’s lack of respect, knowledge and regard for political protocol during his ‘trip’ to Europe.

In my opinion, Obama has the incredible talent to 'perform' for the audience he is speaking to (teleprompters always in tow…), and then to perform completely different back at the WH, as he signs away our future generations.

Obama's voters fell for the "Chang$" and they, along with the rest of us, are going to get it. Thank God! I do not have this vote on my conscious.

I have only one more thing to say, just show us the birth certificate Obama. Show us the 'authentic' date-tested, birth certificate.

He needs to tame that ego of his which sometimes gets too much out of control, he also has problems a plenty with his nationals who are unhappy with both his handling of the economy and his style of government too... and which he has great difficulties addressing, to quote the French saying: "Le chameau ne voit pas sa bosse." i.e. "The Camel does not see its hump.".
