6 April: Health officials declare an alert after outbreak of 400 cases of respiratory disease. Locals blame contamination of atmosphere and water by pig farms.
12 April: Woman, 39, dies of severe viral pneumonia in San Luis Potosi.
16 April: Mexican health department notifies the Pan-American Health Organisation of outbreak.
21 April: Two children in California get flu; Mexican doctors confirm two deaths.
22 April: Mexican health ministry issues a nationwide alert. Samples in Canada show same swine flu strain as California.
23 April: Mexican authorities link their outbreaks with those in US.
24 April: Mexican authorities say they have identified more than 900 suspected cases and 62 deaths linked to swine flu.
25 April: Numbers raised to 1,300 suspected cases and 81 deaths “probably linked to the virus”. US Centre for Disease Control reports 11 cases. Eight more suspected cases in New York.
26 April: New Zealand health minister Tony Ryall says 10 students who travelled to Mexico have tested positive for flu and it was “likely” to be swine flu.
27 April: Swine flu arrives in Europe as the first cases are confirmed in Spain.

We are still paying off BSE and foot and mouth and now this comes along. All these problems caused by meat consumption and all paid for by the taxpayer so that "farmers" can exploit animals.
