1 May 2009Footballer Dan Magness was on his way to a world record for keepy uppy today in Covent Garden as he tried to keep a ball in the air for 24 hours. The current record is 19 and a half hours.
The 25-year-old was allowed five-minute breaks every hour. There were more objects staying in the air at the Midland Railway goods shed at King's Cross.
It was being filled with balloons to form an art installation by William Forsythe which people are invited to walk through

Every record breaker take a break for obvious reasons; its the same rule for everyone.
I think the young man did good; for you critics; just try doing it for only a half hour; then you will know what that young man did was not easy at all.
He has had his moment of fame; you critics never will.

I really think such records are meaningless. The 5 minute break renders it all quite worthless, if indeed it were not already so.
