US soldier guilty of murder and rape of Iraq girl

8 May 2009

A federal jury in Kentucky has convicted a former soldier of raping and shooting dead a 14-year-old girl in Iraq after killing her parents and sister.

Private Steven Dale Green, of the 101st Airborne Division, faces a possible death sentence when the sentencing phase of his trial opens on Monday.

It is unusual for a crime in a war zone to be prosecuted in a civilian court but Texan Green, 24, had been discharged from the Army for a personality disorder before he was charged.

Prosecution witnesses said Green confessed to the crimes and other witnesses put him at the home of Abeer Qassim al Janabi. They heard him shoot her family and saw him rape and shoot the girl.

Three other soldiers are in military prison for the attack and testified against Green.

"Come forward and say the truth."

Suicide bombers "say the truth" enough for me.

As for your excuse, using this crime, to blame the west entirely? The man should be executed for the crime as he would have been had it happened in the USA. He was an opportunist murderer and rapist - if it hadn't been in the setting it was, it would have been elsewhere, but it still would have happened at some point.

It is the individual who is a criminal in this case, not partisan declared international "terrorism by nations" against people who use, abuse and control their own people in the most vile and inhuman manner.

This is very shameful act by the intruders and most advance nation. There were many exemples of such cruel behavious.
Sorry to say, where are the socalled human rights organisations, NGO, and other human welfare organisations in UK, USA and other countries. When they will condem such incidents and protest for the sever punishment.
Thanks for the British soldiers to left the Iraq and soon they will left Af. It is very sad that four innocent soldiers have been killed today, who is responsible for this, no result war. What is the sentiment of these families? Really life is very unsafe. No body knows, what is the object of this war?
The time will come, when the world will realise that it is only propaganda war. There are only American and British Talibans. In the name of Al Qaeda or Taleban world leaders are frightened the other nations. They are fooling us.Who is supporting these criminal Talebans by finance and weapons, CIA,M15, RAW, ISI, Musad. Since eight years American and Allied did not control them. Very amazing. May be they are dealing in profitable business and we are watching this darama. Come forward and say the truth.
God helps us.
