Finally, an early arrival on the Tube
Evening Standard 18 May 2009Morning rush-hour Tube services were disrupted today when a woman went into labour on a train.
Passengers alerted London Underground staff, who then stayed with the woman who was travelling on a westbound Central line train which had reached St Paul's station.
London Ambulance staff arrived and the mother-to-be was taken out of the station in a wheelchair and transferred to hospital.
The call for help came at 8.34am and services through St Paul's were able to resume at 8.55am.
