Claimed £6,577 between 2004 and 2006 for use of cleaner shared with his brother Andrew for his Westminster flat. Since September 2006 the Prime Minister has claimed £1,500 a year for a gardener at his Fife home after he switched his second home to Scotland.
Since 2004/05 the Tory leader has claimed mortgage interest on his Oxfordshire constituency cottage of up to £1,700 a month — £450 more than the suggested new monthly ceiling of £1,250. That amounts to £5,400 a year of payments that would now be ruled out.
In July 2005 the Liberal Democrat leader claimed £680 for gardening work at his Sheffield constituency home followed by £760 for repair of a garden path. He has also charged £260 a month, equivalent to £3,120 a year, for the use of a gardener at the cottage.
