Boris Johnson’s previous run-ins with the standards committee

October 2008 - A complaint was lodged that Mr Johnson misused GLA resources by using the GLA's website for party political purposes. The committee decided the Mayor and officers should be kept “fully briefed” on the rules.

Decision: no further action

January 2009 - Labour leader on the London Assembly Len Duvall complained Mr Johnson should not have criticised the arrest of Tory MP Damian Green - and that he should not have discussed an ongoing case.

Decision: Officer concludes Mr Johnson was “unwise” and recommended the Mayor had further training in dealing with “such incidents”.

March 2009 - Listeners of LBC complained about views expressed by Mr Johnson on a radio show in which he backed Carol Thatcher's use of the word “golliwog”. The committee noted that in the same interview Mr Johnson called for sensitivity and everyone to work together.

Decision: No further action
