Banker jailed for turning girl into a 'sex slave'

29 May 2009

A City banker, who used his position as a top table tennis player to turn a schoolgirl competitor into a sex slave, was jailed for 12 months today.

Gary Tendler, 36, groomed the 15-year-old with explicit text messages before plying her with alcohol, whisking her off to West End bars and clubs and molesting her repeatedly.

The £150,000-a-year banker, who was arrested at the London offices of Dutch bank ABN-AMRO in 2007, met the child at a competition in Lincolnshire.

London's Snaresbrook Crown Court heard the married father-of-two's groping sessions in the back of his BMW were interspersed with "coaching" on company table tennis tables meant for staff recreation.

I know this person and whilst he has made a mistake, he did not molest or rape her. She was 15 going on 20....plus he did not have sexual intercourse. You should really learn to read all the facts or not write anything at all!!! You all pretend to know the situation, but you quite obviously dont! Keep your comments to yourself usless you know the true facts?? Do you always believe what you read....idiots!!!

Not long enough - he 'groomed' her- doesn't this make him a pedophile? Put the pervert away for a lot longer as James Andrews states 30 years sounds about right. He abused her - of that there is no doubt. A married man with two children - ooh I would be worried about my kids with him....

I don't understand 12 months instead of 30 years or life.

12 months is woefully inadequate. This is a man who has stepped beyond the line from imagination to reality. More would have followed. '12 months' ignores this.
