A government report today attacked Boris Johnson's "lack of leadership" during the heavy snow in February.
The transport committee's report also criticised the Mayor for not getting London's transport network back up and running more quickly and for his reluctance to face MPs' scrutiny. He at one point tried to leave a meeting in April, and last week was cleared of accusations of misconduct at another.
It adds: "We hope the Mayor will acknowledge the transport situation on 1 and 2 February was unsatisfactory."
Mayor hit back at the largely Labour transport committee for being "partisan" and "opportunistic".

Don’t these Labour MPs have anything better to do?

Don't these drones have anything better to do? They know that if Boris had over ridden the operational decisions made by TFL he could be held personally responsible for any accidents - legislation passed by these MPs. Living in South London it was the failure of Southeastern trains to get their services working. They do not appear to have been investigated by these MPs. Oh they are not run by a Tory.

Of course they blasted him. It is only meaningless yammering of political opponents trying to smear someone they don't control.
The man has done some good things, and he has done some things that didn't prove to be very smart - wow! He's human. Being human, not to mention entirely controlled by the circumstances, there was NOTHING he could have done about the events the complainers are whittering on about.

Why spend millions on snow ploughs that are needed once every 15 years? Better to let everyone have a day off and build snowmen once in every generation.
Then again, this government thinks it's a good idea to spend £20bn on a sports tournament that will last 3 weeks and another £20bn on a missile system that will never be used.

Transport for London are directly responsible for the operations of the bus service, not the Mayor. He is in no position to make operational decisions about when it is safe to operate the buses in bad weather, so such criticism is ridiculous.

What exactly do the transport committee think he should have done differently? What do they mean by "lack of leadership"?
Running the buses that Monday would have been a great idea, until one would plough into a crowd of pedestrians.
