You're fired, Gordon... or is Sir Alan a new No10 apprentice?

Joe Murphy, Political Editor

Sir Alan Sugar, the star of TV's The Apprentice, produced a swirl of rumours around Westminster today as he visited 10 Downing Street.

The Prime Minister is planning his crucial Cabinet reshuffle and had let it be known he wants to recruit some big-hitting outsiders to advise Whitehall.

The two men are friends and frequently meet because Sir Alan advises No 10 on issues affecting enterprise and the economy. The business mogul is also a Labour donor and long-standing supporter.

Lets have a general election and start afresh!!
