Police have made a breakthrough in a bid to rid the World Twenty20 cricket tournament of ticket touts.
An illegal re-seller was detained outside the Oval with more than 200 tickets for the three-week competition.
England Cricket Board officials and police are able to check who supplied the tickets and punish them under strict rules brought in for the contest.
"Any fan who sold on their ticket can be identified and will be banned from all future matches and that includes the Ashes," said an ECB spokesman.
England defeated Pakistan at the Oval last night to keep home interest alive.

After standing in the ticket office que for two hours outside the Oval yesterday morning hoping to see England. I was told I couldn't purchase a ticket because I was accused of being a ticket tout. I had to watch while other people were given up to 10 tickets for the two games taking place yesterday. I was not given any reason why this was believed by the Oval staff. I don't think this is Cricket or what the World Twenty 20 is about.
