Apple is unveiling a new version of the iPhone tonight as it attempts to bolster its position as the market leader for web-browsing mobiles.
The latest iPhone is rumoured to have twice as much memory, a faster processor and an improved camera capable of video recording.
Although no launch date has been announced, experts believe it is likely to go on sale next month at about £342 pre-paid or £35 a month for a two-year contract.
One of Apple's rivals, Palm, began selling its own touchscreen phone in the US over the weekend.
