G20 officers face fourth 'assault' probe

10 Jun 2009

A fourth inquiry has been launched into claims of police brutality during the G20 protests.

Officials at the Independent Police Complaints Commission said a woman has claimed she was assaulted while held in a crowd by officers in a technique known as "kettling".

The alleged incident took place when police contained a group in an alleyway connecting Bishopsgate and Great St Helen's on 1 April.

Officials are also investigating the death of newspaper seller Ian Tomlinson, 47, after he was apparently hit with a baton and pushed to the ground.

The two other IPCC probes centre on an incident in which protester Nicola Fisher was slapped across the face and the alleged assault of a 22-year-old woman.

A total of 131 complaints have been forwarded to the Met. So far, IPCC officials are examining 52 of these cases.

Rosie, I have enough principals to go on the street and demonstrate about things I care about, and as a result I have been assaulted.
Also a friend of mine was killed by a policeman for no reason.
I hope you suffer such treatment some time, it will make you a better and less ignorant person.
Love Clive.

I hope those tree huggers who make false allegations are prosecuted too.
