Swine flu case at Waitrose

18.06.09

A worker at Waitrose in Canary Wharf has contracted swine flu.

The diagnosis comes as 94 new cases of the virus were confirmed in London today, bringing the total in the capital to 289, and in Britain 1,752.

The supermarket assistant has not been in the store for nine days and is said to be making a good recovery.

The Health Protection Agency has advised Waitrose to keep the branch open.
