Clerics declare Iran election ‘fraud-free’

Iran's presidential vote has been declared valid and free of major fraud, paving the way for president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be sworn in, despite claims of vote manipulation.

The Guardian Council, a 12-cleric electoral body the opposition accuses of favouring Mr Ahmadinejad, said it found only “slight irregularities” in the voting.
