West Coast line complaints soar
Dick Murray9 Jul 2009
Passenger complaints have soared on a London to Scotland main rail line despite a £9 billion upgrade, it was revealed today.
West Coast Main Line operator Virgin Trains received 52.1 per cent more complaints in the 12 months ending in March than in the previous 12 months, says the Office of Rail Regulation.
Network Rail completed the line's upgrade in December, but continuing delays led the ORR to warn the company about its performance.

Its not worth using the West Coast line. I tried to book my Holiday in Scotland using the "Green" Train option. They could not guarantee that a train would run on the day, because of engineering works & the price for our party of Four was over three hundred pounds more than jumping on a plane to Glasgow and hireing a car for a week ALL TOGETHER! I know we are supposed to be ecologically friendly, but if I wanted to throw cash away I would be a Labour Politician....!

Does the problem lie with Network Rail or with Virgin Trains and the other train operators? I think we need more information to be able to make meaningful comments here.
