Sacked Boris school head loses appeal

The former headteacher of a school where Boris Johnson sends one of his children has lost his appeal after being sacked for gross misconduct.
Jay Henderson, 35, was dismissed from Canonbury school in Islington in May for failing to ensure staff were properly background-checked and for watching pornography in his office.
He is now set to sue Islington council over its handling of the case. Mr Henderson said, after the hearing on 3 July: “I am considering legal action against the governors, who have a responsibility for the welfare of headteachers.
“The investigator noted in broad terms that if they had managed my well-being better ... this may have all been avoided. I really hope lessons will be learned by the governors.”
Mr Henderson was appointed to the £80,000-a-year job in 2005. There is no suggestion he was involved in any criminal activity or that any children were put at risk. Julie Horten, Canonbury's new chairwoman of governors, said: “We believe the appeal hearing draws a line under this case.”

This is a good result, but there needs to be better checks on people involved with children, everything in this country seems to get attention after the event, we need to be more proactive, and think the unthinkable.
My "God" a 35 year old weirdo watching porn movies, whilst in charge of a school, it is disgusting, what is he going on to do?, he will probably get another job teaching, "are we mad"?.
