Londoner facing jail after two die in stunt

A Londoner faces jail after apparently killing two friends during a drunken “car surfing” stunt.

Kaspar Norton smashed into a tree at 80mph as his two friends clung to a luggage rail on the roof of his Volvo. Both were killed.

He lost control of the car on a country lane on the Swedish island of Munso, with fellow Briton Stuart Barnes, 21, and Swede Jimmy Nylund, 20. The drunken passengers were killed instantly as they were catapulted into the tree.

Norton, from Camden, was found in the wreckage with his nose and legs broken, along with several ribs. He was taken to hospital and was told his friends had died.

Police chief Tommy Stienerlantz said Norton had admitted driving under the influence. “They had been partying and were all drunk,” he added.

Norton now faces the prospect of jail. Another passenger Isabelle Frosberg, 21, was also taken to hospital.
